As believers we are caught in a war that has waged on since the dawn of time. It is a war that we cannot stay passive in. The enemy is out to kill our faith, steal our joy, and destroy our relationships. If we refuse to fight then all we hold dear is at risk. Join us as we study the war we are in, the enemy we fight, the weapons of our warfare and the victory we have in Christ. Let the fight begin!
Know Our War
By: Ian Opiniano
In our first part of this series, “The Fight”, we sought to “Know Our War”. We looked at Paul’s warning to the church of Ephesus about the war that believers fight “against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”(Ephesians 6:12) We are called to fight smart, fight prepared, and fight together in this war. But above all, we are to have the confidence that because of Jesus Christ, we do not fight FOR victory, but fight FROM victory!
Know Our Enemy
By: Joshua Mathew
The Devil is real and is actively working against the saints in Christ. In this sermon called “Know Our Enemy”, we learned that his manipulative work has consistently been to steal us through temptation, kill us through deception and destroy us through accusation (John10:10 ESV). His unachievable goal is to put a dent in God’s glory; and has deceived humanity throughout time to live a self-absorbed life, persuading many that they can fill the voids of their sinful and empty lives on their own. Jesus Christ solved humanity’s problem of sin by taking it’s weight on Himself, giving us the forgiveness of our sins and eternal life. Through His death and resurrection, He has triumphed over our enemy and his works, making us children of God. Though the devil tries to weigh us down with memories of guilt and shame, Christ our Lord works in us through conviction and change, to daily overcome the defeated one, and become everything He has destined us to be for His glory.
Know Our Armor
By: Joel Mathew
We need to equip ourselves to fight our battles against Satan. In this sermon “Know Our Armor”, we looked through Ephesians 6:13-18 where Paul exhorts the believer to pick up the armor of God to stand against the schemes of the devil. Starting with the “Belt of Truth” and working our way through to the end of the passage about “prayer”, we saw how each piece of the armor plays a significant role in the believer’s life. We learned that we must have a truthful posture; live a holy life; be Gospel ready; have faith in God; look forward to our future salvation; wield the Word of God rightly; and have a prayerful lifestyle, to fight the devil and have a victorious walk with the Lord on earth. God has called Christians to engage in spiritual warfare with the Armor of God, so that He will be glorified as we walk worthy of our calling in the Lord.
Know Our Victory
By: Benjamin Thomas
There is an assurance of Victory that we can often doubt when it comes to fighting the adversary. In this sermon titled “Know Our Victory”, Paul reminds the church in his epistles that the enemy has been defeated. We often forget this truth and continue to live life in fear. Paul reiterates that our job as the church is to break down these strongholds in our lives by aligning our thoughts with what God’s Word says. We can’t win this battle on our own merit. Instead, Ephesian’s 6 actually reveals that we need to stand in Jesus’ righteousness understanding that He is the armour of God that gives us the Victory in the first place.
