More often than not there is a tendency for people to prioritize their own riches over godliness. The church however, is called to gain something far greater; contentment and sufficiency that can be found only in Christ. In this sermon, we learned from Paul’s letter to Timothy that in order to find true contentment, we need to prioritize godliness over what we own. This comes with the realization that what we own does not belong to us in the first place, rather, it all belongs to the Lord. It really comes down to moving away from greed and covetousness, and moving towards being satisfied with what God has already provided for us. Money in itself is not sinful, but the love for it will certainly lead us on a bad path. We are called to be content with what we already have in Jesus Christ, life and life abundant.
