“I don’t have enough!” Whether it is time, finances, rest or even abilities, we can find ourselves wanting and in a place of discontent. This is known as a deficit mentality. In this sermon, guest speaker Pastor Paul Tuck examines the life of the apostle Paul and discussed how to defeat a deficit mentality. First, we are to take inventory of what we have; examining the blessings of God in our lives allows us to take our focus off of what we don’t have and focus on what we do have. Secondly, we are to be grateful for what we have, for it is the heart posture of gratitude that dispels discontentment. Finally, we are to make good use of what we have; stewardship is the demonstration of gratitude. Christ came to give us an abundant life, and we realize this truth when we focus on all that we already have in Him.
