Update March 21, 2020:

The physical gathering of our church service has been temporarily suspended. Instead, we will provide an online broadcast that will be similar in content. We encourage everyone to attend virtually and participate in singing praises to God and listening to the preaching of God’s Word. Please subscribe to our YouTube channel for our weekly services.

Dear church family,

With much prayer and consideration, we have decided to cancel our worship service for this Saturday evening of March 14th. We want to abide by the recommendations made by Peel Public Health to lessen community gatherings for the time being in order to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus diseases (COVID-19).

This was a tough decision made by your elders as we believe that as a church, we are responsible to meet together as a congregation (Hebrews 10:24-25) and trust that God is sovereign over the current COVID-19 pandemic. We also believe that we should practice sound wisdom and listen to those whom God, in His common grace, has appointed for such matters of public health and safety.

With this in mind, we urge our members to do the following:

Trust God’s Sovereignty
Have faith in God who purposes all things, including the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the counsel of His will (Ephesians 1:11). Let your strength come from the hope that all things work together for good for those who love God and are called by Him (Romans 8:28-30), and that nothing, including death, can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:38-39). This is a time for faith and not fear because, though we may not know what will happen tomorrow, we know Him who knows and purposes our tomorrows.

Practice Wisdom
Please practice good hygiene and limit unnecessary exposure to the public. If you are showing signs of illness, please seek immediate medical help both for your sake and those around you. Let your motivation come from our Lord Jesus Christ who has instructed us to love God and our neighbour (Mark 12:30-31). We desire that all our members stay healthy and safe so that we can continue to see lives changed by the Gospel, and together, bring glory to our God.

Pray for Healing
Find time to be in God’s presence to intercede in prayer on behalf of others who are sick, need supplies, and mourning over lives lost. Secondly, pray for the research teams to find a cure for this disease and health care services to be effective. Finally, pray for people to see the graciousness of God in the person of Jesus Christ despite our sinfulness. So let us approach the throne of grace with confidence to receive mercy and grace in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16) and believe that God will answer our prayers according to His will (1 John 5:14-15).

Please stay tuned to our social media platforms for any further updates, and opportunities for ministry during this time. If you have any questions or prayer requests, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thank you for your understanding and prayers. Remember, you are greatly loved.

Elder Joel (on behalf of the Elders)
