In this standalone sermon, we looked at the Church’s responsibility to be known as a house of prayer in times of crisis. We were reminded from God’s Word of our position in Him; we belong to Him, called by Him and are helpless without Him. Our position reminds us that we are in the hands of the sovereign God, and that we have a role to play in His plans. Secondly, we were reminded of our part; it is our responsibility to pray, seek, and turn from our sins. We are to fulfill our calling as the light of the world. Finally, we were reminded of the promises that God offers to us while living in times of crisis. Those promises are that God will hear our prayers, forgive our sins and heal our land according to His will. Through Jesus Christ, we have access to the throne of grace, and can have confidence that our heavenly Father inclines His ear to us. As the Church that is living through this crisis, we are called to be a house of prayer.
