In this sermon, we looked at Psalm 25, a prayer of David in a time of affliction that was most likely caused by his past sins. From his prayer, we observed three themes: first, our sin can cause affliction in our lives; second, we can turn to God for hope in our affliction; and third, God will take care of His people. Like David, we can approach God and ask for His mercy when facing the consequences of our sinful choices and rest knowing that He instructs sinners in the way, leads the humble into the truth, and reminds us of His friendship and covenant. May we live a life free of shame, guilt, and loneliness because of our past and instead, live to leave a legacy for the glory of Christ!
