Following Jesus is a lifelong commitment that starts at the early stages of childhood and continues until the day that we are called home or Christ returns. In this series we will be examining the various stages of life and the role our faith plays in them. From childhood, to old age and everything in between, we will examine what the Bible teaches about those various stages of life, as well as the trajectory of our faith in those seasons. Our goal is to cultivate a faith that endures and grows regardless of what season we find ourselves in, eventually culminating in a life of faithfulness.
A Quiver Full of Arrows

We began our new series looking at what the Bible has to say about children. In a world where children are often mistreated, abused, or disregarded as a burden, the people of God must remember the value that God places on the life of a child. We also saw from scripture the call of children to learn and be instructed in the ways of the Lord. As well as the role of the parents to teach and instruct their children in a way that exemplifies the grace and love of God. Children are a blessing from the Lord and as believers we must ensure that the next generation hears the good news of the Gospel.

In this sermon, we looked at singleness and what this season is to be for the believer. We were reminded of the value of singleness in which it is a time to focus on the things of God. We also saw the call for those who are in this season to grow in the things of God, using the time to mature and deepen in their faith. Finally, we were reminded that those who are in this stage of life should find enjoyment in the Lord.
Do Not Be Divided

How should our faith look like in our season of adulthood? In this sermon, we looked at Jesus’ call to remain undivided for the kingdom of God. We saw how anxiety often comes when our faith is divided between things of this world, and God. Jesus therefore calls us to remember that even as adults, we are still children of the Father and therefore should believe in His faithfulness to us. We also saw the need to dedicate all that we do and have in our adult years to the Lord; if we desire to be undivided then everything must be stewarded for God’s kingdom. Adulthood can be difficult and full of anxiety, but it can also be a season of glorifying God with everything we have and a faith wholly devoted to Him.
To Old Age and Grey Hairs

As we concluded our series, we looked at the elderly stage of a believer’s life and what our faith should look like in that season. We were reminded of the value of those who are in their senior years being able to share their wisdom with those who are younger. We also saw how the call for those who are elderly is to persevere in the faith and to remain in an attitude of worship for what God has done in their life. Finally, we saw the vision of finishing the race well and remaining in the hope of resurrection only found in Christ. From early childhood to old age, and to our eventual invitation home, our journey of faith is a lifelong one and must be lived with much grace and hope in Christ.
